Learn Astrology Level 1: Meet the Planets

Your Story: The Hero’s Journey

The following is an excerpt from the upcoming book, Astrology & The Law of Attraction. It serves as an entree into the work of getting to know each of the seven Astrological Archetypes. Please note that while this article is available to everyone, from this point forth, you will have to log in as a member to view the rest of the tutorials in this section.

Once upon a time, there lived a race of eternal, multi-dimensional beings. Each one of these beings was infinitely powerful, and fully aware of the Truth that they were each individualized aspects of the Presence of the Divine. These beings were always searching for ways that they could experience the Truth of their Divinity in deeper, more powerful ways.

Meet the Sun

The Sun is the Archetype of the Hero. In many ways, the Sun is the most challenging of the Archetypes to understand. The other Archetypes represent the different voices in our heads. Saturn, for example, is the inner authority figure, and the voice that is always right there to point out when we’ve done something wrong. All of the other Archetypes are responsible for thinking the thoughts we think. The Sun, on the other hand is the part of us that notices the thoughts. The Sun is the “Big S” Self—the ultimate Truth of who we are as individuals. (Most of who we think we are is Mars, the ego/body and the “little s” self).

We do not automatically express the Sun. The Sun represents our potential; the purpose of our life is to realize, embody and express that potential. When Arthur pulled the sword out of the stone, his destiny was to be the King of England. That was the beginning of his journey, not the end.

Your journey begins when you truly ask, “Who am I?” The journey ends when your consciousness and vibration have expanded to the Enlightened and Transcendent states.

Meet Saturn

Saturn is the Archetype of the Judge. Saturn represents the Law, at least within the context of the Story. Saturn specifically represents the Law of Cause and Effect, which rules the world of form and linear reality. Saturn represents all limits, boundaries and restrictions including our perception of time. Without Saturn, we would not be able to discover our personal standards of integrity. What are our standards of integrity if not boundaries? Saturn, in fact, is responsible for the feeling of discomfort that we experience when we cross a boundary and step out of integrity. Saturn tells us who we are not, so that we can more easily and effectively discover who we are.

While the other Archetypes express by saying “yes,” Saturn is the Archetype that says “no.” This is a very unpleasant experience until we move well into Second Kingdom. In Truth, however, we could not progress without Saturn. The biggest help in discovering who we are as individuals comes from knowing who we are not.
